China’s Financial System – Part 2: Growth Powered by Sovereign Wealth Funds, AI, & Sustainability Goals

This is Part 2 of my conversation with Dr. Zoe Liu. We discuss the role that China’s sovereign wealth fund plays in growth and stabilization strategies.  Liu’s doctoral research delineates the unique path that China has taken in establishing some of the largest sovereign wealth funds and banking institutions in the world.  These institutions are now poised to support the Chinese economy, as its property sector weakens and the country faces headwinds from antagonistic U.S. trade policy.  The discussion also addresses China’s stance on AI adoption and its focus on following a climate-conscious sustainable growth path.
